Vision
Helping new immigrants and refugees integrate into Canadian society especially women and children of African descent.
Mission
To provide information, resources, and social services as well as raise awareness on mental health issues affecting new Canadians, immigrants, and refugees especially women and children of African descent.
Mandate
• We advocate for new Canadians, new immigrants, and refugees including women and children of African descent who have faced very difficult conditions and are seeking to better themselves.
• We provide them with information on how to access available resources and services that aid their transition, adaptation, and settlement.
• We promote pride in cultural heritage and historical memory through art and culture using music, dance, visual arts, theatre, spoken word, and storytelling
• We organize talks, conferences, workshops, and community outreach on social justice and mental health-related issues.
ABOUT FOUNDER
Eseosa (Sosa) Eweka-Valentine is the founder of Talks with Sosa; a public speaking platform that seeks to bring experts to discuss a myriad of issues from social justice to mental health. She is also the founder of Salt City Advocacy Society a not-for-profit society with the purpose of creating a better environment for refugees and new immigrants most especially women and children of African descent. Daily, she is inspired by the fact that each and every one of us sees the world through different lenses. Consequently, causing our views on life to differ which makes up our individuality.
